It allows you to experiment with low level networking code in a high level language. Scapy is a powerful and versatile tool that can replace most of the networking tools you're used to, like nmap, tcpdump, and traceroute. With Scapy, nothing is hidden from you, all parts of the packets you send and receive are modifiable and can be inspected. It can send packets at the "link layer", which means that even custom WiFi packets are possible (more on that later).
